Crafting Spaces That Stand the Test of Time.
At SHINE & SHIELD , we take pride in crafting high-quality, durable aluminium gates tailored for New Zealand’s unique climate and living needs. This warranty outlines our commitment to product excellence, covering all aluminium gates supplied and installed by our team across mainland New Zealand, in compliance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and local industry standards. This warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser and is valid for gates installed for residential, non-commercial use only.
We offer a structured limited warranty on all our aluminium gates, commencing on the date of installation and final acceptance (if acceptance is not completed within 7 working days of installation, the warranty period will automatically start on the 8th day). Our coverage is tiered to reflect the longevity of each gate component:
Main Aluminium Structure & Profiles – 5 Year Limited Warranty: Covering manufacturing defects, material cracking, structural warping, and severe deformation that is not caused by external forces, ensuring the core integrity of your gate remains intact.
Powder Coated Surface Finish – 3 Year Limited Warranty: Protecting against premature peeling, blistering, excessive fading, and chalking directly caused by poor coating application. This excludes natural weathering, minor discoloration from prolonged sun exposure, and damage from harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning.
Hardware & Fittings – 2 Year Limited Warranty: Covering hinges, locks, handles, latches, and other standard fittings against functional failure, seizing, and structural defects stemming from poor craftsmanship. This excludes normal wear and tear from regular use.
Installation Workmanship – 2 Year Limited Warranty: Covering faults related to substandard installation, including unstable fitting, misalignment, and impaired opening/closing functionality caused by our installation team’s error.
During the valid warranty period, we will resolve confirmed manufacturing, material, or installation defects at no additional cost to you. Our complimentary warranty services include on-site fault diagnosis by qualified technicians, repair of defective components, replacement of substandard materials and fittings with equivalent quality parts, and all necessary labor and transportation costs for mainland New Zealand (remote offshore islands are excluded from complimentary service coverage).
This limited warranty does not apply to damage or faults caused by non-quality related factors, including intentional misuse, abuse, or accidental damage (such as vehicle impact, falling debris, or forced operation); unauthorized modifications, disassembly, or fitting of non-original replacement parts by the purchaser or third-party contractors; improper maintenance, use of harsh cleaning products, or failure to follow recommended care guidelines; extreme weather events, natural disasters, salt spray corrosion in uncoated coastal areas, and other environmental factors outside our control; normal wear and aging of components, minor cosmetic changes, and wear on seals or moving parts from regular use; damage caused by faulty auxiliary works (e.g., unstable gate piers, improper embedded parts) completed by third parties; and claims made without a valid proof of purchase, installation receipt, or altered warranty documentation.
If you encounter a fault covered by this warranty, please notify our team immediately via phone or email within 3 working days of noticing the issue. Provide your full name, installation address, purchase date, and clear photos/videos of the fault to assist our assessment. We will arrange an on-site inspection by a qualified technician within 5 working days (extended slightly for remote regional areas) and issue a formal fault assessment report promptly. For valid claims, we will complete repairs or replacements within 7-10 working days (subject to part availability), and we will communicate openly if additional time is required for complex repairs. Once works are completed, your gate will be deemed accepted if no objections are raised within 3 working days.
This warranty is non-transferable and applies solely to the original residential purchaser. Our liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective components only, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from gate faults. We reserve the right to inspect all claims and determine the appropriate resolution, in line with New Zealand consumer protection laws. For full terms and conditions or further clarification on your warranty, contact our customer service team during business hours.
At SHINE & SHIELD, we design and install premium louvre solutions built to withstand New Zealand’s diverse climate, delivering durability, functionality and aesthetic appeal for residential properties. This dedicated warranty covers all louvre products supplied and fitted by our team across mainland New Zealand, fully compliant with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and local building and industry standards. This warranty is exclusive to the original residential purchaser, valid for non-commercial installations only, and reflects our commitment to quality craftsmanship and reliable after-sales support.
This warranty commences on the date of professional installation and final customer acceptance. Should you fail to complete formal acceptance within 7 working days of the installation being finished, the warranty period will automatically activate on the 8th day post-installation. We provide structured, component-based limited warranty coverage, tailored to the durability and usage lifespan of each louvre part:
Louvre Frame & Blade Structure – 5 Year Limited Warranty: This covers manufacturing defects, material cracking, warping, bending, or structural failure of the main louvre frame and individual blades, where faults arise directly from substandard materials or poor workmanship. It excludes any damage caused by external impact, forced use, improper handling or environmental wear outside manufacturing flaws.
Surface Finish – 3 Year Limited Warranty: We protect against premature coating failures including peeling, flaking, blistering, abnormal fading and chalking, solely caused by subpar finishing application processes. This warranty does not cover natural weathering, minor cosmetic discoloration from prolonged UV exposure, damage from harsh cleaning chemicals, abrasive scrubbing, or salt spray corrosion in coastal areas for non-specified anti-corrosion finishes.
Louvre Operating Mechanism & Hardware – 2 Year Limited Warranty: Covering all functional components including adjustable rods, latches, hinges, locking systems and operational fittings, this warranty applies to functional failure, jamming, seizing or breakage due to manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear from daily operation, damage from forced adjustment, or misuse of the operating mechanism are not included.
Professional Installation Workmanship – 2 Year Limited Warranty: This covers faults caused by our installation team’s substandard work, including unstable mounting, poor weather sealing, misaligned louvre blades, impaired opening/closing/adjustment functionality, and unwanted gaps around the frame. It does not cover issues stemming from third-party auxiliary works, such as faulty structural supports or improper embedded fittings.
For confirmed defects covered under this warranty within the valid period, we provide fully complimentary services at no extra cost to you. This includes on-site fault diagnosis by our qualified, experienced technicians, repair of defective louvre components, replacement of substandard materials and hardware with equivalent quality parts, and all necessary labor and standard transportation costs for mainland New Zealand. Please note remote offshore islands are excluded from complimentary on-site servicing, with additional fees applicable for these locations if required.
This limited warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by non-manufacturing, non-installation related factors. Excluded scenarios include intentional misuse, abuse, accidental damage (such as impact from vehicles, falling debris or forced operation); unauthorized modifications, disassembly, or fitting of non-original replacement parts by the purchaser or third-party contractors; improper maintenance, use of harsh cleaning products, or failure to follow recommended care guidelines; extreme weather events, natural disasters, and other environmental factors outside our control; normal wear and aging of components, minor cosmetic changes, and wear on seals or moving parts from regular use; damage caused by faulty auxiliary works (e.g., unstable mounting bases, improper embedded parts) completed by third parties; and claims made without a valid proof of purchase, installation receipt, or altered warranty documentation.
